The Partnership for Market Implementation (PMI) is a global, multi-donor umbrella program promoting the development and implementation of carbon pricing policies and supporting countries' access to the next generation of international carbon markets. It aims to encourage countries to design and deploy carbon pricing policies that align with their local context and sustainable development priorities, as well as catalyze the next generation of international carbon markets.

At the heart of the PMI's mission lies the belief in the power of knowledge sharing and partnership. The PMI Annual Global Knowledge Fora creates space for countries to exchange insights, showcase progress, and confront challenges in designing and implementing carbon pricing instruments that support ambitious NDC migration targets and Paris-aligned decarbonization goals. This year’s annual Forum was meticulously curated to foster dialogue, and brought together the PMI community – representatives from participant countries, donors, knowledge partners, and other stakeholders.

This year’s focus was on Domestic Carbon Crediting Mechanisms and International Carbon Markets and the interplay between them. Through a series of engaged and interactive sessions, participants had the opportunity to delve into the experiences of countries, explore innovative solutions, and anticipate any challenges that may arise.

As part of this year’s PMIF Global Knowledge Forum, the following events took place at the Cartagena de Indias Convention Center:
•June 24: PMIF Global Knowledge Forum, Day 1: National Crediting Mechanisms
•June 25: PMIF Global Knowledge Forum, Day 2: International Carbon Markets
